the pitch

Last week we pitched the concept for the next Timothy James Beck book to our editor, John, at Kensington. It took a few days, but last Thursday we finally got a response from John, who liked what he heard, but wants an outline. We really didn't know exactly where the story was going yet, just who the narrator was, the basic structure of how we want to write his story, and a possible outcome. I really don't like to do outlines until we've written four or five chapters, or have a general feel for the story and where it's going. But, in this case, I'm sure we can put our heads together and come up with a general idea of what's going to happen. It's just the more monotonous part of writing.

Still, I'm excited that John likes our ideas and wants to see more.
