se a vida é (that's the way life is)

Now that The Big H only needs me in the afternoon, it's been a while since I've had to be awake at a certain time during the morning hours. Today, however, I wanted to be up at 8:30 AM in order to meet someone at 10 AM. As is my nature, I didn't sleep very well, because I was worried about sleeping through the alarms. That didn't happen, because my eyes flew open at 7:30 AM. The noise from my eyelids woke Rex and Pixie, who dashed out of their crates and started prancing about way too early for my taste. I croaked, "Go back to sleep, damn it," and we did.

At 8:30 AM my computer chimed, began its startup process, and then played the dulcet tones of Brian Ferry's "Slave to Love." Not the best startup song choice, because I regained consciousness only to be lulled to sleep seconds later by Ferry's crooning. Thankfully, my iTunes is set to shuffle my song library, so the driving bass line of "Left to my Own Devices" by the Pet Shop Boys got me and the dogs up and moving. Which is good, because I was on time to pick up my new foster dog, Tyson. Yes, yet another Tyson. And, yes, another medium size tan dog. He's pretty much a hybrid of Pixie and Rex. I'll be bringing him to the Scout's Honor meet and greet this Saturday. Click here for info.
