i'll be there

And, I also received this email from a Scout's Honor member. You can bet I'll be there. Hope you will, too!

Everyone has been asking about when Scout's Honor Rescue's next fundraiser will be, so here you go! But first a little background: Before going to law school, I was a professional musician for 10 years in an acoustic duo called "The Belle Curves." I played bass guitar and was the lead singer, while my buddy Carol played guitar and sang harmony. While the jury is still out on how good of a bassist I was, I am not exaggerating to say that Carol is one of the best female guitarists around. The Belle Curves played about 20 nights a month in Memphis and all over the United States. We had a great time. The Belle Curves had their final show in 1996, and Carol and I have performed a couple reunion shows in Memphis since then.

For Scout's Honor's next fundraiser, the Belle Curves are reuniting here in Houston at the Porch Swing Pub (69 Heights Blvd.) on Saturday, April 17 from 5 pm until 7 pm. See the attached flyer (a demonstration that I can laugh at myself in order to earn a buck for homeless animals). The suggested donation is $25. Porch Swing Pub is again graciously letting us hold our event there! They will have crawfish for $3.75/lb and drink specials until 7pm.

We really need tons of people to come! Not only will it be a fun night, but after Scout's Honor just pulled 16 dogs from BARC, we need the funds! So come support us and have a good time.

We can also send you a credit card authorization form if you would like to get your name on the list. The forms will be shredded after the show, but if you do not feel comfortable filling it out, you can donate online at www.scoutshonor.org. Just put “April 17 Fundraiser” and the number of people in the description and (please) shoot me an email at lcarlock@gibbsbruns.com letting me know that you did so.

You can hear a sample of the awesome tunes you will hear at http://www.greatindie.com/ipnmusic/store/list.php?item_number=4832037723.

We look forward to seeing you (and all of your friends) there!
