In the wake of the legislation signed last month by Gov. John Baldacci that adds sexual orientation to the Maine Human Rights Act, The Times Record of Brunswick, Maine is running a series of articles by reporter Michael Reagan about local Maine residents connected to glbt issues.

'Coming out' in high school

The last article features a student, Devin, who attends my former high school. I'm amazed and pleased to see that MTA now has a GSA for its students. Especially one that is supported by the principal and school board. I know the odds of Devin reading this is slim, but I think he's much braver than I ever could've been at his age. And his mother rocks. Devin, you're very inspiring.

Unlike Michael Heath, and the rest of the hypocrital bigots of The Christian Civic League of Maine who are initiating a petition drive to recall the recently signed gay rights legislation. That's right; they apparently believe it's christian to discriminate against others.
