step by step

Today was EZ's therapy day at Cooper Animal Clinic in the Heights, so I had to wake up at 8:30 to get her there by 9ish this morning. Everyone there was extremely sweet to her and promised her they'd have lots of fun, which made me feel as though I was dropping off my child at her first day of kindergarten. I was in the area, so afterward I stopped by Buchanan's Native Plants and bought a selection of herbs and annuals for the front flower bed. I thought I'd be able to nap today, but that never happened, for no apparent reason.

Rex had an appointment scheduled with his lawyer for this afternoon, but she had to reschedule. He's been mopey ever since.

When I picked EZ up later, the physical therapist showed me the exercises they'd been doing with EZ to help improve her hip and back leg muscles so I could do them with her at home. I was elated that I'd been doing a few of them with her already, and was interested to learn something new, too. The repetitious motions of sitting and standing will help, for example. Or, swaying from side to side to help improve her balance on that leg. I'm to bring her back tomorrow at noon so they can x-ray her front paw, which they think hasn't healed properly. It's fairly obvious that she's not standing on it correctly, but I hope it doesn't require another major operation, or another month in a splint.
