the soft parade

Not a whole lot going on to write home about. Recently I've taken on the task of updating Ruth Sims' Web site. Minor stuff, really, fixing links, updating text, yada yada yada. It keeps me out of trouble.

It's been raining off and on the past few days, which means I've spent most of that time with a quivering 40 pound dog on my lap. This allows for lots of time to study Rex's behavior closely and I think I've determined that he's bothered more by the rain than by the thunder. And, he's bothered more by the anticipation of thunder than by the thunder itself. There'll be a thunderclap, perking of the ears, five seconds of stillness, and then he starts quivering and darting glances at the windows, almost like he's searching for the next thunderclap. As if to say, Is going to make the noise again? Where's the noise? Will it happen now? Now? How about now? Maybe now? Will it rain? Now? Maybe now? Is the CAR okay?

Because of the thunder, rain, and brief moment of hail, there hasn't been much joy or joyness in Rex's life. But we did get to go on a walk with Rhonda, Lindsey, and Sugar yesterday. I walked Guinness and Rex, and gave Lindsey Margot to walk, so Lindsey wouldn't feel left out. We had our own little dog parade. It was fun. Hopefully we can do it again soon.
