Yesterday the dogs allowed me to sleep until 10 AM, for which I was eternally grateful. Or, I needed sleep so badly that my brain decided to do its Sunny von Bullow impersonation. Either way, I was pleased.

Today, however, I had the feeling that I was being watched and I opened my eyes to see Greta's rheumy stare from the foot of the bed. I sat up and saw wee white Sparky glaring at me from the floor. "Alright!" I exclaimed. "Geez!"

It was 6:45 AM. Sparky did his Inject me with some food and insulin, please dance, while Greta leaned against my legs in an effort to have her neck rubbed. Crazy dogs.

L&C should be back soon. My stuff in the car and I'm ready to get back to The Compound. This four day respite has been great, and these are two wonderful dogs that I've been taking care of, but I miss Rex very much.

Don't tell him that, though. If he asks, I'm only going home again so I can resume the beatings.
