Rex, day three and four

I had to run a Wedding Bitch errand today and Becky told me that after I left without him Rex whined for a while and then plopped down on the floor. He allegedly didn't move until he heard me return and could greet me with the boundless enthusiasm I never knew I deserved. Which is silly, because I was only gone for less than an hour. But I'll take it and pretend he wasn't just miffed because I left him behind. Last night, whenever we went outside he ran to the car door and kept staring at me expectantly as if to say, Again!

He's acting a lot better inside, but hasn't figured out that the same commands apply outside as well as in. Which won't be helpful if he does figure out that he can jump our fence. However, he hasn't seemed interested resuming his Olympic High Jump training and I'm not about to suggest it.

These are the phrases Rex hears on a loop:

Sit, Rex. Good boy!
Rex, leave her alone. Margot doesn't want to play with you.
Lay down, Rex. No, lay down. Down. Good boy!
Come here, Rex. Come here. Here. Good boy!
Rex, leave her alone. Guinness doesn't want to play with you.
You're laying down? That's a good place for you to be.
No! Down, Rex. Sit. Good boy!
Rex, leave Lazlo alone. He doesn't want to play with you.
